Matthew touched countless lives through his kindness, faith, and generosity. Join us in celebrating his life, sharing memories, and honoring the legacy he leaves behind.

Matt Spina was one of those guys who treated everyone like they were his best friend. He just loved being around people, sharing stories, and somehow made every conversation feel easy.

We always connected over the food business. Talking restaurants, ideas, the grind. It was something we both genuinely loved, and I always looked forward to those conversations with him.

He was a genuinely good person. No ego, no agenda, just real.

He’ll be deeply missed.

i texted Matt yesterday because i hadn’t heard from him in awhile. I googled him bc i got nervous. I am so sorry to his wife and family. i am devastated by this news. I met Matt at SHU, then reconnected at FCI years later. We lost touch again and once again reconnected. In Dec 2022 Matt helped me get sober. I often refer to him as the person who saved my life. I will always be grateful for him and I loved him very much. My deep deep condolences to all of his loved ones.

I have so many moments of sorrow that are quickly softened by memories of being around you. It’s true you gave your heart to everyone who needed it. You saw people and just knew what they needed. They needed you, your care, your love, your incredible attitude. Your smile and your listening ear.

To say I’ll miss you is a severe understatement. You once told me we should always share our locations, so if we were ever in trouble, we’d know where to find each other. Now you’ll always have mine, watching over me, guiding me.

I’m happy you’re with your daughter, but heartbroken you left us sooner than we ever wanted. I love you, Cuz.
